The Family Court offers a free court-based mediation program to assist parties in settling cases through a process that is fair, cooperative, and respectful. Mediation gives parties an opportunity to discuss issues, be heard, and work toward an agreement in a safe, private setting. When a case involves children, it is expected that mediation will result in a parenting plan that meets both parents’ concerns as well as the children’s needs.
