What Is Divided Yet United?

Divided Yet United is an educational program which can teach you how to help your children cope with divorce. The program is conducted by professional clinicians from St. Mary's Home for Children, a local agency that has been helping Rhode Island families for more than 115 years.

How can Divided Yet United help my children?

Divided Yet United helps children by teaching parents how to reduce the familial conflict surrounding divorce. During two 2 1/2 hour sessions. Divided Yet United will teach you:
  • How to talk to your children about divorce.
  • How to listen and respond to your children's concerns.
  • How children react to divorce.
  • How to handle visitation issues.
  • How to meet your children's developmental needs.
  • How to teach your children skills to help them cope with the divorce.
  • How to restructure your family following divorce

To help your children cope during this difficult time:
  • Pre-register for the next available seminar by calling Divided Yet United at 784-3530
  • Fill out the registration form and return it with the $25.00 fee to: Divided Yet United, St. Mary's Home for Children. Sophia Little. 135 Norwood Avenue. Cranston. RI 02905. Registration may also be faxed to 784-3549
  • Please note that a sliding fee scale is available upon request for anyone unable to pay the full registration fee.
You Need To Know...
  • After receiving your registration, St. Mary's will send you a confirmation, as well as directions, for the next set of classes.
  • Please note that you will need to make child care arrangements before attending Divided Yet United. We cannot provide child care.
  • You will need to arrive 15 minutes before class to register and receive credit for your attendance. Late arrivals will not be given credit.
  • Refreshments will be served.
  • After completing both sessions. participants will receive a certificate.
