The Board of Bar Examiners, appointed by the Supreme Court, tests the legal knowledge of bar applicants, administers and proctors the Rhode Island Bar Examination on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of February and July, and prepares and scores the essay portion of the bar exam. Prior to sitting for the two-day examination, applicants must have graduated from a law school approved and accredited by the American Bar Association and must have received a scaled score of at least an 80 on the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam. Members serve for five (5) years and there are no limits on the number of terms. |
